Kuranda Original & Heritage Markets

Monthly markets at the QCWA Hall, Mount Molloy. Local produce and community stalls.
Koah Monthly Markets
Community markets at 322 Koah Road, Koah Hall. Closed December and January.
Speewah Country Markets
Country markets at Speewah Tavern Carpark, Speewah Road.
Coffee Works Tours
Daily tours of the Mareeba Coffee Works with tastings and chocolate experiences.
Granite Gorge Nature Park
Open daily for rock wallaby feeding, bush walks, and kayaking.

Wet SeasonWet season. Mango harvest festivals, Australia Day celebrations at Centenary Park, agricultural field days.

Dry SeasonDry season begins. Queensland Youth Week (Apr 11-19), ANZAC Day services, Great Wheelbarrow Race Mareeba to Chillagoe (May 8-10), Colour Frenzy 5K Fun Run (May 4), Tradies Day Race Meeting at Mareeba Turf Club (May 24), coffee harvest begins.

Dry SeasonPeak tourism season starts. Hot air ballooning daily, Chillagoe Caves tours, farm gate trail weekends.

Planning Your Visit Around Events
The most popular time to visit Mareeba Shire for events is July and August, when the annual Rodeo and Multicultural Festival draw visitors from across Far North Queensland. During these peak periods, accommodation in Mareeba fills quickly -- book well in advance, especially for the Rodeo weekend.
For a quieter experience, the April-June period offers perfect weather, daily hot air ballooning, and the start of the coffee harvest season. Many farms open their gates for tours and tastings during this time. The Kuranda markets operate year-round and are busiest during the dry season school holidays.
